Hope M. Gainer, 85, of Lancaster, died on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Conestoga View with her husband by her side. Born in Lancaster, Hope was the daughter of the late Thurman and Emma Mutzbough Hoehn. She was the loving wife of Robert A. “Bob” Gainer and they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in March of this year. Hope was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Manheim. She graduated from McCaskey High School. Hope was the owner and operator of Hope’s Daycare for 45 years. She enjoyed making hook rugs, collecting Hummel Dolls, and spending time with her beloved family.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Bob, are four sons; David husband of Jane Gainer, of Lititz, Michael husband of Kay Gainer, of Clay, Jeffrey husband of Toni Gainer, of Elizabethtown, Robin husband of Tina Gainer, of Manheim, a daughter; Kathleen wife of Terry Schrum, of FL., twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a sister, Betty Lighty, of FL. Preceding her in death is a brother, Harry Hoehn and a great grandson, Christopher Gainer.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Hope’s Funeral Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster.
