Homer R. Adams, 86, of Lititz, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Lancaster General Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Farmersville, he was the son of the late Homer Z. and Alverta Cooper Adams; and the stepson of the late Catherine Fleischmann Adams. Homer was the loving husband of June M. Strohm Adams and they observed their 63rd wedding anniversary in June of this year. In 1986 Homer retired from Armstrong World Industries where he worked as a General Production Supervisor for many years. In the same year, Homer received the President’s Award for Excellence from Armstrong World Industries. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was an active and faithful member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lititz; and also served on the Board of Trustees for the Lititz Springs Park. His interests included: attending public auctions, refinishing furniture, deer hunting in Lycoming County and working in his yard. He had a life-long passion for his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife June, are two daughters: Kim M. wife of Sean Shannon Sr., Kay E. wife of Scott Burky all of Lititz, five grandchildren: Kate, Stephen, Autumne, Sean Jr., and Meaghan. He is preceded in death by two sisters: Flora Adams Martin and Ruby Adams Hess.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Homer’s service of remembrance and thanksgiving at the Luther Acres Community Room, 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz, on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family in the Luther Acres Community Room on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private in Machpelah Cemetery, Lititz.
