Henry A. Zerphey, 71, of Lancaster, departed on a final journey to his ultimate and eternal destination in heaven, on September 16, 2023. He leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Jan (Janet Troxel), two sons, David, Ephrata, and Michael, Manchester, TN, two beloved grandchildren, Dylan and Alyssa both of Lancaster, and a sister, Linda (Bob) Doran, Manheim. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur R. and Gloria Mae (Rohrer) Zerphey and his nephew, Christopher Doran.
Henry was a native of Mount Joy, graduating from Donegal High School in 1970, and Elizabethtown College in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in Management and Marketing. He was employed by Alcoa Inc. in the packing department for 44 years until his retirement in 2014. He was the owner of Video Visions, videotaping weddings and other special events from 1985 to 2000. During this time period, he was an active member of WEVA (Wedding and Events Videographer Association).
Henry was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Phillies and FIFA soccer whose memorabilia he collected and proudly displayed in his man cave. Henry and Jan shared a passion for travel and Henry was well known among his friends and family for capturing amazing pictures of their travels. He was an active Facebook user and had quite a following of friends who took great pleasure in traveling vicariously through the pictures and descriptions he posted from their trips.
A funeral service will be held at Florin Church of The Brethren, 815 Bruce Avenue, Mount Joy, PA, on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 12noon. Viewing and Visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 AM until time of service. Interment will be in Mount Joy Cemetery.
