Henry S. Lehman, 101, formerly of Manheim R.D. #1, passed away peacefully on Friday November 10, 2017 at Brethren Village, Lancaster where he was a resident. He was the loving husband of the late Mildred (Forney) Lehman who died in 2012. Born in Mount Joy, he was the son of the late Henry G. and Elizabeth (Shelly) Lehman. Henry was the owner/operator of an electrical contracting business at Manheim R.D.#1.
Henry was a member for 77 years and served as deacon of the Hempfield Church of the Brethren, Manheim. He was also a member of the Landisville Lions Club for over 50 years. His hobbies included whittling, basketmaking, and caning chairs, and he also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.
Surviving is a son James H., husband of Peg Lehman, Elgin IL; three daughters Ann Lehman, wife of Alan Suits, Santa Fe NM, Carol J. Lehman, Seattle WA, Susan K Lehman, Elgin IL; two grandchildren Jessica Kate, wife of Steven Jakobovic, and Joseph Beaty; two brothers, Clarence Lehman, Canada; Robert Lehman, Mechanicsburg; and two sisters Rhoda Funck-Meyer, Palmyra, and Mildred Armacost, Charlottesville VA. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Joshua R. Lehman; three brothers Jacob, Roy, and Earl Lehman; and four sisters Ann Sparrow, Mary Crumley, Eva Myers and Ethel Clark.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Hempfield Church of the Brethren, Corner of Stevens Street and Metzler Road, East Petersburg PA on Friday November 24, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Hempfield Church of the Brethren Cemetery. There will be a public viewing on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
