Helen S. Mayer

Helen S. Mayer, 93, of Lititz and formerly of Manheim, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Luther Acres, Lititz. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Christian and Caroline Saylor Fink. She was the wife of the late Oscar C. Mayer Jr. who died in 1987. A homemaker, Helen was a Gold Star Mother and former member of Brunnerville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Her interests included crocheting, needle point, reading, baking and cooking; especially her homemade Chicken Pot Pie. Helen loved to spend time with her family.
Surviving is a son, Larry C. husband of June Engle Mayer of Lititz, two daughters, Holly S. wife of Lynn Mearig of Brunnerville, Pattie wife of Jeffrey Graffius of Sinking Spring, ten grandchildren, Brenda, Larry Jr., Michelle, Tammy, Gwen, Jenna, Jason, Joshua, Emily and Chelsea, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by two sons, Oscar C. “Ozzie” Mayer III and Michael R. Mayer, great grandson, Justin Mayer, four brothers and a sister.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Helen’s memory to Masonic Village Hospice, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
