Helen Hershey Boose, 91, formerly of Landisville, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster.
Born in Hershey, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Carrie Wagner Hershey. Helen was a 1936 graduate of East Hempfield Township High School, and attended Lancaster Business College. She retired from Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster, where she was employed as a secretary and operations administrator for many years. She was the loving wife of Paul L. Boose who died in March of 1973. Helen was a long time faithful member of the Hempfield United Methodist Church, Lancaster. She was a member of the Lancaster Bird Club, and she enjoyed traveling, and did so extensively. She was known for her homemade chocolate candy that she made and sold at local craft shows.
Surviving are two daughters, Joan Garner of Mount Joy, Nancy B. Fasolt of Lancaster, four grandchildren: Andrew Garner, Timothy Garner, Carrie Fasolt Crawford, Rebecca Fasolt Jones, seven great grandchildren, and a sister, Thelma Kauffman, of Lancaster. Preceding her in death, are two sons-inlaw, Bruce Garner, and Terry Fasolt.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at the Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Dr. Keith Braucher officiating. Interment is private in Silver Spring Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
