Helen F. Buckwalter, 93, formerly of Manheim passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Landis Homes Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Bart Township, she was the daughter of the late Elvin and Stella Ressler Stauffer. She was the wife of the late J. Harold Buckwalter who died in 2006. Helen was a seamstress for over sixty years. She was a member of Lititz Mennonite Church where she was active in the sewing circle and was church librarian. Helen was a former member of Manheim Mennonite Church and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Manheim. Her interests included traveling, reading, gardening, and she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy L. Buckwalter of Mountville, Janet L. wife of Richard Lengacher of Huntsburg, Ohio, a son, Allan H. Buckwalter of Womelsdorf, three grandchildren, Eric Lengacher, Jill Crumbacher, Levi Buckwalter, and four great-grandchildren, Anna and Abigail Crumbacher, and Samuel and Joshua Lengacher. She was preceded in death by six siblings, Reba Nissly, Anna Stauffer, Irene Stauffer, Landis Stauffer, Clarence Stauffer, and Harold Stauffer.
Relatives and friends are respectively invited to attend her funeral service at Landis Homes Retirement Community, WEST BETHANY CHAPEL, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, East Lampeter Township on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
