Harry E. “Skip” Mentzer, Jr, 82, of Mount Joy, passed away peacefully Tuesday December 9, 2014 at ManorCare, Elizabethtown. He was the husband of Roberta (Frank) Mentzer, and they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in September. Born in Lampeter, he was the son of the late Harry E. Mentzer and Ruth Weitkamp. “Skip” was a salesman for the former Raub Supply Company of Lancaster, and had worked for the Noland Company of York before retiring in 1998. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. “Skip” enjoyed hunting, fishing, tennis, and vacationing at the beach with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter Barbara Ann wife of Rick Neideigh of Maytown; two granddaughters Richelle wife of Chadd Ettline and Renee Neideigh; two great-grandchildren Cohlston & Berkley Ettline; and a brother Ronald B. Mentzer of Lampeter.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 W. Main St. Mount Joy, on Saturday December 13, 2014 at 12 noon. Interment will be in Mount Joy Cemetery. There will be a public viewing on Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
