Harold W. Hilles

April 8, 1946 — November 18, 2014

Harold W. Hilles, 68, of Manheim went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Butler, he was the son of the late Harold and Carolyn McIndoe Cheers and stepfather, Sam Hilles. He was the loving husband of Carol Harcarik Hilles and they celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in August of this year. Harold owned and operated H.W. Hilles Architects, Lancaster. He graduated from Penn State University in 1969 majoring in architecture and he was a member of the American Institute of Architects. Harold enjoyed golfing and he loved to spend time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Mark Hilles, Matthew husband of Shelly Hilles, a daughter, Sarah Hilles partner of Keith Ragsdale, two grandchildren, Ayden and Heather, and a brother, Joel husband of Sandy Hilles.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Harold’s Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private. Please omit flowers. Those desiring may send contributions in Harold’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
