Harold C. Scott, 82, of Manheim died peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center, Lancaster after a brief illness. Born in Todd, PA he was the son of the late Fuhrman P. and Kathryn Alexander Scott. Harold worked at the Manheim Auto Auction for eighteen years and previously he was a truck driver for twenty five years at the former Jones and Laughlin Steel Company, Lancaster. He was the husband of Lucy V. Parks Scott and they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in September of last year. Harold was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Manheim where he served as an usher and he was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War. An avid hunter, Harold also enjoyed visiting with family and friends at his cabin in Huntingdon County. Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Judy wife of Frank Gorny of Pittsburgh, two sons, Rodney K. husband of Lynn C. Scott of Manheim, Dean E. Scott of Spartanburg, South Carolina, twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three brothers, Ralph husband of Pauline Scott of Three Springs, Ivan Scott and Clyde husband of Nancy Scott both of Chambersburg. Preceding him in death is a sister, Joyce Jones and a brother, Merrel Scott. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 50 North Main Street, Manheim on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Dr. James W. Bright Jr. officiating. Interment in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, Rapho Township. There will be a public viewing at the church on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 PM until the time of service.
