Grace Winters, 89, of Pleasant View Retirement Community, and formerly of North Wolf Street, Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Susan Rhoades Gamber. For over 25 years Grace worked at the former Raymark Industries Manheim. Following retirement she was employed at the Danner Home, Manheim; and worked for Donald Groff Auctioneer at Roots Country Market. She was the loving wife of the late Guy S. Winters who died in September of 1988. Grace was a faithful and active member for over 60 years at Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim, where she taught Sunday school in the children's department, and was a member of United Methodist Women. She volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels in the Manheim area and at the Nearly-Nu Shop. Her interests included: baking, cooking, canning, and sewing. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending time with family at the cabin named "Hungry Bear" located in Clinton County that they built together. She had a life-long passion for her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters: Susan L. wife of Warren R. Connelly, Rebecca W. wife of Donald R. Mummaw, two sons: G. Douglas husband of Sharon Miller Winters, Grant husband of Laurie Lehman Winters all of Manheim, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Salem United Methodist Church 140 North Penn Street, Manheim, on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, Rapho Township. There will be a viewing at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
