Gloria O. Hertzler

 Gloria O. Hertzler, 84, of Lancaster, died peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Brethren Village. Born in Elstonville, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Eva (Ober) Schreiber. A homemaker, Gloria was the loving wife of Benjamin A. Hertzler and they observed their 67th wedding anniversary in March of this year. Gloria was a faithful and active member for over 72 years at Chiques United Methodist Church, Mount Joy; where she served on the Communion Committee and sang in the choir in her early years. An avid Quilter, she was a member of the Lancaster Quilting Guild. Gloria enjoyed traveling to the family cabin in Snyder County and enjoyed flower gardening. She had a life-long passion for her family and cherished the time she could spend with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom she adored.

 Surviving in addition to her husband, Benjamin, are two sons: Benjamin L. husband of Beth Hertzler of Harrisburg, Kenneth E. husband of Rosene Hertzler of Wrightsville, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a sister, Judy Knepp of Landisville. Preceding her in death is a brother, Donald Schrieber.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Gloria’s Memorial Service at the Chiques United Methodist Church, 1215 East Main Street, Mount Joy, on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM till the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Gloria’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
