Glenna R. Mattern

Glenna R. “Tooter” Mattern, 82, of East Petersburg, died unexpectedly Tuesday August 7, 2018 at her residence. She was the widow of the late Herbert E. Mattern, Sr. Born in Granville, Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Brint and Margaret (Hamond) Hockenberry. Tooter as she was affectionately known was a member of the O.E.S. Chapter 366, Columbia and a member of the American Legion Auxillary Post 56, Lititz. She was an avid shopper and enjoyed traveling to Hollywood Casino.

Surviving is a daughter Susan wife of Dennis Parmer, Ephrata; a son Herbert E. Jr. husband of Anne Mattern, Elm; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two sisters Phyllis Dixon and Margaret Borman, both of Lewistown. She was preceded in death by a son, Redgie L. Mattern, a granddaughter, Jennifer Mattern, and a great grandson, Chad Michael Lownsbery.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Monday August 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 12:30 PM until the time of the service. Interment in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, East Petersburg will be private.
