Glenn L. Bollinger, 57, of Manheim, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus after a 22 year long, courageous battle with a cancerous brain tumor, on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lebanon, he was the son of Robert B. and Edith I. Patches Bollinger of Lebanon. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 37 years Dawn Keller Bollinger. Glenn graduated from Cedar Crest High School in 1974 and began repairing John Deere tractors, bailers and combines. He was known for being able to diagnose and repair any farm equipment problem. In 1983 he started G & D Repair, later known as G & D Farm Equipment, Manheim. Glenn was a faithful member and energetic chorister at the White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim. He was a member and volunteer for many years at the Penryn Fire Company as a chief engineer. His interests included attending tractor pulls.
Surviving in addition to his wife, and parents, are two sons: Douglas husband of Beth Brubaker Bollinger, Daniel husband of Wendi King Bollinger all of Manheim, a daughter, Gwenda wife of Matthew Heisey of Richland, and he was also loved by 11 grandchildren: Mikayla, Dylan, Trevor, Carter Bollinger, Brayden, Megan, Trenton, Eric Heisey, Jeznie, Mason, Jacobi Bollinger, and two brothers: Ronald husband of Kathy Bollinger, Bruce husband of Bev Bollinger all of Lebanon.
A special thank you to Dr. Garrido, Dr. Horenkamp, and the National Institute of Health, for their excellent care of Glenn during his illness.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the White Oak Church of the Brethren, 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with additional viewing time at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
