Gladys I. Shelly, 85, formerly of Manheim passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Warwick Township, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Elizabeth Leslie Kissinger. Gladys retired as a cook at Lancaster General Hospital. She was a 1947 graduate of Manheim High School. Gladys was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim and the Manheim VFW Post 5956 Auxiliary. Her interests included cooking, reading, babysitting and stock car racing.
Surviving are two sons, Leslie Eugene Shelly of Elizabethtown, David Leigh husband of Sharon Shelly of Manheim, two granddaughters, Amanda Plasterer, Veronica Shelly, three great grandchildren, one brother, Raymond husband of Helga Kissinger of Las Vegas, NV and two sisters, Arlene Moyer of Lebanon and Betty Grant of East Petersburg. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Eugene Kissinger.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Longenecker’ s Brethren Cemetery, Warwick Township. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Please omit flowers.
