Geraldine "Jerrie" I. Wetzel

Mount Joy

 Geraldine (Jerrie) I. Wetzel, 96, of Mount Joy, went home to be with her Lord peacefully, on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Born in Mount Joy (Florin), she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Herr) Rider. She was the wife of the late Lewis M. Wetzel, Sr., and they were married for 64 years before his death in 2009. Jerrie attended Harvestview Church and was of the protestant faith. She was a messenger during the World War II at the Marietta Depot, and later was employed by Hamilton Watch and RCA, both in Lancaster. Jerrie most recently worker at the former AMP, Inc. in Mount Joy for 43 years before retiring in 1991. In her earlier years she loved visiting the beach, and in her later years she enjoyed visited the mountains. Her hobbies included reading, knitting, dancing, and was also very proud of her beautiful flowers. But what gave her the greatest joy was her family and gave all her family unconditional love. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be truly missed.

 Jerrie is survived by five children, Linda, wife of the late James Hinderdeer, Jonestown, Donna, wife of Carl Weaver, Mount Joy, Lewis Wetzel, Jr., Middletown, Jerry, husband of Barbara (Maser) Wetzel, Lancaster, Melissa, wife of the late Robert Bradfield, Mount Joy; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Mary Sager, Betty J. Myers, and Lois Becker. She was also loved by her dogs Nena & Misty, both deceased.

 Services and interment at Henry Eberle Cemetery, Mount Joy will be private.
