George A. Kervin III, 74, formerly of Manheim, died unexpectedly yet peacefully at his Lititz home on Friday, February 19, 2010. Born in San Francisco, he was the son of the late George A. Jr. and Velma A. Coombs Kervin. He was the loving husband of Elsie M. Pochel Kervin, who died in July 1999.
George helped found Sechan Electronics in 1985, and served as president of the company until his retirement in 2000. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He attended the University of Virginia, Rutgers University, and Elizabethtown College. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Manheim. George enjoyed traveling, day trips to Atlantic City and Hollywood Casino, attending air shows, and talking on his Ham radio. But Georges true passion was spending time with his children and grandchildren, who will dearly miss their dad and Paw Paw.
Surviving are his four daughters: Karen Kervin (Steve Torres) of Sparta, NJ; Nancy Kervin of Alexandria, VA.; Susan (David Hixson) of Lititz; Sally Kervin (John F. Baker III) of Baltimore; seven grandchildren: Autum, Blake, Drew, Sam, Joshua, Chris, and Henry; and his sister, Pamela, (Edward Segal), of Sebastopol, CA.
