Gary L. Witman, 65, of Manheim passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Lester Witman and Isabel Fichthorn Witman Krewson. He was the loving husband of Irene M. "Renee" Hetrick Garman Witman and they celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary in June of this year. Gary worked thirty-four years at the former Raymark Industries, Manheim. He also worked at Fairway Plastics, Mount Joy and delivered car parts at the former Manheim Chrysler/Plymouth Auto Dealership. Gary proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam War as an ammo technician. He graduated from Manheim Central High School in 1965 and was a life member of the Ephrata VFW Post 3376. Gary enjoyed collecting coins, eagles and watching Nascar racing. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are two stepsons, Dennis L. Garman Sr. and Donald P. Garman Sr. both of Palmyra, two stepdaughters, Wendy K. wife of Brad Haver of Elizabethtown and Paula M. wife of Dana Oster of Marietta, 13 step grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren and three sisters, Linda Hilton of Manheim, Susan McDonald and companion Ed Blouch of Lebanon, Peggy wife of Steve MacFeat of Millersville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Witman and a sister, Sandra Wolfe. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 3:30 PM with Pastors Rob Timlin and Wayne Achey officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:30 PM until the time of service. Please omit flowers.
