   Gary Lee Axe, 57, of Manheim, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Gary was a staple in the Manheim Community. He was born and raised in Manheim. He was the proud owner and founder of the Hubcap Barn which he successfully operated for 40 years. He was a hard-working man all his life. Gary held memberships at the Manheim VFW, Germania Band Club, and Elstonville Sportsmen Association. Gary shared the love of hunting, fishing, camping, and boating with his family. He loved his music and landscaping. He worked hard to make others laugh and smile. He would do anything for family and friends.  

   Gary had a love for animals. He will be greatly missed by his two cats (his babies) Brandy and Mickey. He will also be missed by his shop cat, Nicki, one of his many rescues. 

  Gary is preceded in death by his soulmate of ten years, Tracy L. Bair and his baby cat, Jack.

  Gary is survived by his mother, Lorraine Axe and father Barry Axe Sr. of Manheim, his sister, Sherry Geib (Don) of Manheim, his brother, Barry Axe Jr. (Pamela) of Lancaster, his brother, Steven Axe (Donna) of Manheim, and his brother, Kenneth Axe (Patty) of Mount Joy. Gary’s five daughters: Kristina Dinterman (Tony), of Maryland, LeAnn Todd (widow of Mike Todd) of New Providence, Jessica Mott (David) of Mount Joy, Jayme Axe (Brian) of Carlisle, and Jennifer Geiger (Stephan) of Harrisburg. 

   He will be missed by 20 grandkids that he loved dearly. As well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Gary’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:30 AM. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Gary’s memory to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
