Franklin A. “Frank” Kipp, 92, of Landisville, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Calvary Homes, Lancaster. Frank was reunited with the love of his life; his wife, the late Audrey Weaver Kipp who died in February of 2003. Born in Millerstown, he was the son of the late Clarence B. and Emma Rumberger Kipp. Frank was a diligent hard worker his whole life. In his early years he helped relatives and friends on neighboring farms. Frank was employed for many years at Keystone Trucking as a claims agent; and when Keystone purchased Mushroom Transportation Frank became office manager and would travel to help set up Terminals and open new offices. Frank was a faithful, devoted, active, and passionate member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Petersburg for many years. He served the church faithfully on many committees, taught Sunday school, helped with youth group, served on church council and as President, synod delegate, cemetery chairperson, pastor search committee member, and church treasurer from 1958 through 1982 where he received recognition for his volunteer work. Frank was a member of the Lancaster Elks Club, the Lancaster Traffic Club, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Lancaster. His interests included: refinishing furniture, reading, continuing to write in his wife’s diary following her passing, and traveling especially to Rehoboth beach. A truly humble man, He loved both his family and friends and would help anyone in need.
Surviving are two sons: Herb Kipp of Landisville, Gary Kipp of Lancaster, a sister, Jean wife of Roy Lightner of Scheafferstown, and cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceding him in death is a daughter-in-law, Deb Kipp, two brothers: Junior Clarence Kipp, Kenneth R. Kipp, and a sister, Geraldine “Gerry” Parks.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Frank’s funeral service at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1905 Broad Street, East Petersburg, on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
