Frank S. Sweigart, 84, formerly of Manheim and a resident of Colonial Lodge, Denver passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in East Earl Township, he was the son of late Ellsworth and Martha Steinmetz Sweigart. Retired in 2000, Frank worked for thirty years as a plant foreman at Rohrer’s Quarry, Inc., Lititz. He was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, Manheim. In his earlier years, Frank enjoyed fishing, traveling to the mountains and he loved his cat Patches.
Surviving are six children, Pamela (Galen Jr.) Hibshman of Lititz, Dawn Sweigart of Columbia, Laura Jean Bell of Virginia, Gail Sweigart of Lancaster, Janet Ernst of Texas and F. James Sweigart of Denver, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two brothers, Ellsworth Sweigart Jr. of Akron, Warren Sweigart and two sisters, Irene Miller of Lititz and Eleanor Hertzog. He was preceded in death by a sister, Verna Gerhart and two brothers, Victor and Clarence Sweigart.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private in East Fairview Brethren Cemetery, Rapho Township. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Frank’s memory to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
