Evelyn Violet Bires, formerly of Sporting Hill and the Danner Home, Manheim, died Saturday March 25, 2017 at Cedar Haven Healthcare Center, Lebanon where she was a resident for the past two years. She was the widow of the late George Bires. Born in Lebanon she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Bessie (Wenrich) Hess, Sr. Evelyn worked at the former Albright’s Grocery Store for many years and eventfully retired from there. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manheim. She enjoyed traveling to Wildwood NJ for vacations and deep sea fishing. She also enjoyed her day trips and shopping excursions with her sisters and niece.
Evelyn will always be remembered being seen with her twin sister Violet Evelyn Schaeffer and was the last living of 13 brothers and sisters. Surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. There will a public viewing on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery.
