Evelyn J. Weaver, 85, of Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel G. and Violet G. Heisey Eshleman. Evelyn was the loving wife of the late Wilbur B. Weaver who died in June of 2001. Earlier in her life she had worked at the Mount Hope Church Home for over 10 years. Evelyn and her husband had a stand at Roots Market for 10 years selling hand painted items: milk cans, saws, and frying pans. For over 68 years Evelyn was a faithful member of the East Fairview Church of the Brethren, Manheim where she served as Sunday school teacher, prayer chain member and women’s fellowship. Her interests included: watching birds and butterflies, gardening, reading, cooking, and baking.
Surviving is a daughter, Mary Alice wife of Glenn Thomas of Manheim, three sons: James W. husband of Sandy Weaver of Jonestown, R. Edward husband of Marilyn Weaver of McAlisterville, Andrew L. husband of Deborah Weaver of Manheim, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a son, David L. Weaver; a grandson, Jeremy L. Weaver, and a step father, Stanley G. Greiner.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the East Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim, on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
