Evaleen R. Weinhold

Evaleen R. Weinhold, 99, died December 16, 2023, at Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in West Hempfield Township, she was the daughter of the late Ralph D. and Esther (Weaver) Ranck Sauder.

She graduated from Manor-Millersville High School in 1942 and the Lancaster General Hospital School for Nurses in 1948. As a registered nurse, she worked in Dr. John Farmer’s office and later did private duty nursing and worked at the Mennonite Home. She enjoyed reading and word games and was known as an avid Scrabble player. She was a member of the former Kauffman Mennonite Church of Manheim where she taught Sunday school for many years.

She is survived by her children, Daniel G. Weinhold of Lancaster, Marta Weinhold of Manheim, S. Allayne (Bruce J.) Byram of Denver, and Ralph L. (Sandra Boll) Weinhold of Mount Joy; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, D. Ernest, who died in 2015; brother R. Glenn Ranck; sister Joyce Keagy; and an infant sister.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Evaleen’s Memorial Service at Crossings Community Church, 8 South Erisman Road, Manheim on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 11:30 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private.
