Eva Mae Bentzel, 85, of Manheim, went home to be with her Lord, on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late Henry H. and Beatrice Kauffman Nohrenhold. Eva Mae retired in 1986, where she worked in the office at the Fuller Company, Manheim for 41 years. She was the wife of the late Donald M. Bentzel who died in January 1989. Eva Mae was a life-long faithful member of the Manheim Brethren In Christ Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, bible school teacher, choir member, and treasurer of the Friendship Club. She also was the treasurer of Church Women United. Eva Mae was a resident representative to the Pleasant View Retirement Community Board. She helped as a volunteer in the gift shop, administration office, and was a volunteer and treasurer of Pleasant View Retirement Community Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Pleasant View Singers and was one who helped to start the Library at Pleasant View Retirement Community. Eva Mae graduated from Manheim High School in 1945 where she served as treasurer of her graduating alumni class. Eva Mae was a member of the Manheim Historical Society; and was an expert seamstress and enjoyed embroidery, creating many art pieces and craft items which won her many awards at the Manheim Farm Show. Surviving is a stepson, Paul H. husband of Hung C. Shu Bentzel of Fredericksburg, Virginia, a stepdaughter, Mary Jean wife of David Ludwig of Bowmansville, three step grandchildren, two sisters, Helen wife of George Shuey of Palmyra, Ruth wife of Harold Heagy of Millersville and a brother, Jay Samuel husband of Lois Nohrenhold of Manheim. Preceding her in death is a stepson, Donald M. Bentzel, Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township. Friends may visit with the family in Hoffer Auditorium on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
