Eva L. Schreiber, 94, of Mount Joy went home to be with her Lord after a brief illness on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Moravian Manor in Lititz. She formerly lived at Hearthstone Manor in Mount Joy where she was called the "Flag Lady" because of her love for her country and the American flag. Her phrase at Hearthstone was when the bus goes, I go. She loved stuffed animals and always bought the first one for a new member of the family. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late Willis E. and Maggie Lehn Ober. Eva lived most of her life in Salunga. She was the loving wife of the late Robert H. Schreiber who passed away in 1951. Her husband, Robert H. Schreiber was one of the original founders of the Manheim Auto Auction. Eva was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Mount Joy and previously attended Grace Baptist Church in Rohrerstown where she taught Sunday school, Bible school and was a camp counselor. Her faith was an important part of her life. She retired from Musser's Potato Chip Company, Mountville in 1981 after working there for over twenty years. Surviving is a son, Donald E. Schreiber of Kane, Pa., two daughters: Gloria O. wife of Benjamin Hertzler of Lancaster, Judy Ann wife of Warren Knepp of Landisville, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were four sisters, and seven brothers. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staffs of Hearthstone Manor, Moravian Manor and Hospice of Lancaster County for their concern and loving care they provided to their mother during her illness. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service from the Grace Baptist Church of Lancaster 1899 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Interment is in Lititz Moravian Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Tuesday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM till the time of the service.
