Eunice Irene Harris, 83, of Lititz, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday August 11, 2015 at United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Thorp, WI, on August 24, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Jenous C. and Myrtle (Rhodes) Smith. She was the loving wife of William Ira Harris, and they would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on August 24, 2015. Eunice was a dedicated elementary school teacher, teaching at Upper Bucks Christian School in Sellersville, Plumstead Christian School, Chalfont, PA, and Salem Christian School in Macungie, PA, teaching for 34 years before retiring. She was a graduate of Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC, and received her Master’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. She was an author of spelling curriculum for the Association of Christian Schools International. She was a member of Lakeview Bible Church, Manheim. Her other interest included sewing, crocheting, cross stitch, and teaching ladies bible study.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters Cherie wife of William Hoerr of Ephrata, Patricia wife of Joseph Koo of Crittenden, KY, two sons Keith husband of Cindy Harris of Ringoes, NJ, Jeffrey husband of Gail Harris of Doylestown, 15 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Randall Harris, a grandson Taylor Koo, a granddaughter Rebecca Fields, a sister Lois Tornquist, and two brothers Wilbur and Emmet Smith.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Lake View Bible Church, 383 Lakeview Drive, Manheim, on Saturday August 15, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Ephrata. There will be a public viewing on Saturday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
