Eugene B. Berrier, 75, of Manheim, died peacefully on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle, Lititz. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Eugene D. and Joyce Wolf Berrier. Gene was the loving husband of the late Beverly Ann Winters Berrier who died in November of 2014. For many years he worked in the maintenance department for the Hempfield School District, previously he was employed at the former Raymark Industries, Manheim. Gene loved the outdoors and visiting his cabin called the “Shady Lane” in Sullivan County. Spotting deer was a favorite passion of Genes’ in the mountains or visiting Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area in Lancaster County. He was also a member of the Elstonville Sportsmen’s Association. His interests included: vegetable gardening, rooting for his Philadelphia Phillies, and watching TV game shows. Gene was an animal lover and enjoyed having dogs in his life. Gene loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters: Teresa J. wife of Rick Lehman of Manheim, Jessica L. Berrier of Wernersville, a son, Eugene D. Berrier of McAlisterville, two grandchildren: Melinda Fickes, Eddie Melanson, two great grandsons: Benton, and Ryan, a brother, William husband of Dawn Berrier of Manheim, and a sister, Sandy Miller of Lititz. Gene was a very kind and loving father, and his children will miss him greatly.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Gene’s graveside service at Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, 746 Lebanon Road, Manheim, on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM.
