Ethel Moore Broske, 98, of Mount Joy, died peacefully Monday December 14, 2009 at St. Annes Retirement Community, Columbia.

She was the wife of George F. Broske and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past June 10, 2009. Born in Mechanics Grove, PA she was the daughter of the late John G. and Viola (Clark) Moore.
Ethel was a graduate of the former Mount Joy High School class of 1928, the former Millersville State Teachers College class of 1930, and received her B.S. from Millersville in 1939. Ethel was a teacher for the Donegal School District for 35 years before retiring in 1973. She was most noted in the school district for teaching music, and also taught mathematics. Ethel was a member of the Mount Joy Church of God, where she was the church organist and choir director for over 50 years. She was past president of the Donegal Education Association, past president of the Elizabethtown Business Professional Women, charter member and past president of the Business Professional Women of Mount Joy, and past president of the Delta Kappa Gamma Chi chapter, an honorary society for key women educators.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son George F. II, husband of Jan (Gardner) Broske of Newark, DE. In addition to her parents, a brother Dr. Joseph D. Moore preceded her in death.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at the Mount Joy Church of God, 30 E. Main St. Mount Joy, PA on Saturday January 2, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Bob Malick officiating. There will be a time of visitation with family following the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Viewing and Interment in Mount Joy Cemetery were private.
