Esther R. Hoffer, 91, of Lititz, and formerly of Lebanon, died peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Conestoga View, Lancaster. Born in South Annville Township, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Carrie Rank Wenger and a step daughter to the late Anna Mae Wenger. Esther was the wife of the late Allen H. Hoffer who died in 1972. Esther worked as a Library Aid for the Lebanon County Library. She was a graduate of the former Messiah Academy. Esther was a member of Landis Valley Christian Fellowship; previously she was a member of Gingrich’s Mennonite Church, Lebanon. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, Jigsaw puzzles, and crafts.
Surviving is a sister, Melinda A. wife of Roger Bomberger of Lebanon, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death is stepson, Blaine Hoffer, two step daughters: Almeda Ginder, Mary Dohner, two brothers: Leon and Ralph Wenger, and three sisters: Mabel R. Long, Rachael R. Brownsberger, and Ruth R. Heffley.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Esther’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Esther’s memory to: World Vision, P.O.
