Esther Mae (Mellinger) Musser, 84, of Juniper Village (Hearthstone), Mount Joy, passed peacefully surrounded by her family and entered into the Lord’s presence on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. She was married to the late Irvin R. Musser who died in 1994. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Emma (Hostetter) Mellinger. She and her husband started their life in dairy farming, then continued in the poultry industry for 45 years with I.R. Musser Poultry Farm, Inc. and Spring View Poultry Producers, Inc., both of Mount Joy.
Esther was a faithful member of Calvary Bible Church of Mount Joy. She was devoted to God and her family, which brought her great joy. She will be remembered as a gracious servant of the Lord and a generous supporter of Christian ministries. She also enjoyed reading, sending cards and letters, playing games, and conversing with family and friends. Esther was a loving and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (James) Miller, Mount Joy; Darlene (Wendell) Buckwalter, Elizabethtown; five sons, I. Ronald (Barb) Musser, Mount Joy; Gerald (Regina) Musser, Annville; Kenneth (Linda) Musser, Mount Joy; Dale (Brenda) Musser, Gaithersburg, MD; Larry (Tammy) Musser, East Berlin; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Grove, Shippensburg; Dorothy (Milton) Byers, Lancaster; two brothers, Harold (Nancy) Mellinger and Glenn (Kathy) Mellinger, both of Mount Joy. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gish, and two brothers, John and Alvin Mellinger.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at Calvary Bible Church, 629 Union School Road, Mount Joy, on Saturday May 10, 2014 at 6:30 P.M. Viewing and interment will be private. There will be a time of visitation with family on Saturday at the church from 5:00 P.M. until the time of the service and also immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
