Esther Mae Martin Farrel, 82, Manheim, passed into the loving arms of her Savior surrounded by her loving family, at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday April 18, 2011. Born in Kinzers, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Mary (Benner) Martin. She was the wife of Paul Kreider Farrel, and they celebrated 59 years of marriage this past March. She was a homemaker most of her working life. She was a member and custodian for many years of Grace Community Fellowship of Manheim. She was a member of the Christian Women's Club of Lancaster County, and a volunteer for Meals On Wheels in the Manheim area. She enjoyed visiting friends and family, and taking trips to Florida and going to the cabin at Cedar Run. Surviving in addition to her husband are her children Marvin Lee husband of Joyce Rhoads Farrel of Manheim, Kathy Ann wife of Michael Akers of New Market Virginia, Pauline Sue who was lovingly cared for at home, Mary Jane wife of Ralph Kurtz of Ephrata, Doris Martin wife of Lloyd Jeffrey Ebersole of Elizabethtown; thirteen grandchildren, Angela, Ryan, Marsha, Jason, Crystal, Lance, Shane, Nicole, Lane, Lloyd, Christopher, Ashley, Julie; ten great grandchildren Tegan, Ty, David, Morgan, Sara, Rachel, Dalton, Mitchell, Elijah, and Israel; 3 brothers Carl husband of Reba Martin, Joseph husband of Betty Martin, Elvin husband of Lois Martin; 4 sisters Norma Groff, Dorothy Martin, Mary Ann wife of Ray Beyer, and Irene wife of Lamar Reed. She was preceded in death by three brothers Clair, Lee, and Paul Martin, and a sister Elsie Martin. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Erb Mennonite Church, 567 West Lexington Road, Lititz, PA, on Thursday April 21, 2011, at 10:30 AM with Pastor Dennis Andrews officiating. Interment will be in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery. There will be a public viewing on Wednesday evening at the church from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and also on Thursday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
