Eric R. Bisbee, 58, of Manheim and formerly of Erie passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, October 4, 2013. Born in Erie, he was the son of the late Orval and Madeline Miller Bisbee. He was the loving husband of Janette Weinhold Bisbee and they celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary in February. Eric was a Registered Nurse and worked as a nursing home administrator. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service time, he was a police officer in Union City, PA. Eric graduated from Union City Area High School in 1972 and Gannon University in 1994 with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. He was an active member of Grove City Jaycees Club. Eric was a former chairman of Grove City civic advisory committee and helped dedicate borough, state and national flags and poles. In 1983, he was selected as an Outstanding Young Man of America in recognition of professional achievement and leadership to his community. His interests included golfing, reading, traveling and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. Eric loved to spend time with his family; especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Aaron Bisbee companion of Kelsey McLallen of Erie, Sharon Bisbee of Pittsburgh, Andrew Goshert of West Chester and Jennifer wife of Jason Weigle of East Berlin, three grandchildren, Aaron, Veronica, Logan and a brother, Tracey W. Bisbee of Florida.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 7:00 PM. Interment will be private. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 PM until the time of service.
