Enos A. Hoffer

Enos A. Hoffer, 87, of Manheim, died peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Ephrata Manor. Born in White Oak, he was the son of the late Melvin and Erma Smith Hoffer. Enos was the loving husband of Peggy Anne Buch Hoffer and they observed their 59th wedding anniversary in December of last year. Throughout the Lancaster area Enos was a well-known expert Harley Davidson Motorcycle mechanic working with motorcycles for over 53 years. Enos had a passion for riding motorcycles; and was awarded numerous trophies over the years in recognition of the many motorcycle drag races he won at the York US 30 Dragway. In his early years, Enos attended the Lititz Mennonite Church. A U.S. Army veteran, Enos served during the Korean War; he was a life member of the Manheim VFW Post 5956, and also attended the Amvets Post 136, Ephrata. His interests included: fishing, reading, working in the woods, cutting fire wood, and rooting for the Hershey Bears Hockey Team.

Surviving in addition to his wife Peggy Anne, are two daughters: Janet Lynn wife of John Lehman of Hopeland, Susan M. wife of Pete Ringer of Lampeter, a son, David J. Hoffer of York, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a sister, Anna Mary Youtz of Manheim. Preceding him in death are two sisters: Helen Miller, Dorothy Sauder, and a brother, Abel Hoffer.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Penryn Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
