Elwood C. "Woody" Zug, 89, of Lititz, died peacefully on his birthday, Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Luther Acres. Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late David and Mazie Carper Zug. He was the loving husband of Betty McCreery Zug who died in 1987. For over 50 years Woody worked for Sensenich Corporation, Lititz, and retired as Vice President of Sales following years of faithful service. Through his career he was a member of the Aviation Distributors and Manufacturers Association. Woody obtained his commercial airplane pilot's license in 1949. Woody served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theatre during World War II, and was a member of the Lititz American Legion Post 56. He was a member of the Lititz Moravian Congregation. Woody was active in the Lititz community, and served as president of the American Business Club in his early years. Woody's interests included golfing, fishing, billiards, bridge, and all types of sports. He had a lifelong passion for his family, enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities and always loved golfing with his sons and grandchildren. Surviving is a daughter, Eileen Z. Bugosh (Fred) of Mechanicsburg, two sons: James E. Zug (Joyce) of Forest, VA, Dr. David A. Zug (Claudia) of Manheim, six grandchildren: Andrew Bugosh, Jason Zug, Jeff Zug, David Michael Zug, Graham Zug, Daneen Zug, and four great grandchildren: Daniel, Micah, Levi, and Elijah Zug, Preceding him in death are four brothers: Ray, Paul, Earl, and Glenn Zug, and one sister, Mary Wenger. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Woody's service of remembrance and life celebration at the Luther Acres Community Room, 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz, on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 6:30 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Lititz Moravian Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Luther Acres Community Room on Friday evening from 5:30 PM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
