Elverta R. (Buller) Kissinger, 104, of Mount Joy, went home to be with her Lord, surrounded by her family on Friday November 29, 2013, at Conestoga View Nursing Home, Lancaster. She was the wife of the late John E. Kissinger who died in 1973. Born in Florin, she was the daughter of the late Harold W. and Mary (Sherk) Buller. “Bert” as she was affectionately called, was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church of Mount Joy. Bert was a graduate of the former Mount Joy High School, and had worked at the former Crippled Children’s Hospital of Elizabethtown. Over the years Bert enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking, playing cards, and crossword puzzles.
Surviving is a son, Carl Kissinger of Lancaster; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a sister Pauline Waters of Mount Joy; and a daughter in-law Sandra L. Kissinger of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a son John E. Kissinger; a great-great granddaughter Abra Holtz; six brothers Theodore, William, Harold, Carl, Emlen, and Merle Buller; seven sisters Jeanette Heisey, Ethel Maurer, Elizabeth Buller, Maude Corll, Pearl Miller, Marion Gerlitzki, and Jean Robinson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Glossbrenner United Methodist Church, 713 Church St. Mount Joy, PA on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Camp Hill Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
