Elsie Ross Beerbower Corlett, 95, passed away on April 10th, 2017. Elsie was born on November 4, 1921 in Uniontown PA, and lived for many happy years in Lemoyne PA, surrounded by the chaos of her seven children, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Elsie, a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Camp Hill, demonstrated a deep and abiding faith, quietly serving as a living example of her favorite hymn, “They Will Know We are Christians by our Love.” Her legacy of service to others, forgiveness, faith, hope, and love will echo through the lives of her family, faith community and the many loving caregivers who became part of her extended family at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. For more than a decade, Elsie was a resident at Masonic Village, attending Sell Chapel.
Elsie is survived by her children; Dr. Carol Howard, Nancy Kulckycki, William Corlett, David Corlett, Judith King, and Robert Corlett; and son-in-law Mike Higgs. Predeceasing Elsie were her husband of 63 years, William S. Corlett, and daughter Mary Louise Higgs.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make a donation, Elsie would prefer you to choose a charity of your choice. If you’d like a suggestion, some family members will be choosing to honor Elsie’s legacy by donating to these two organizations:
• The Global Partnership Committee, St. John's Episcopal Church, 321 West Chestnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. This supports the ongoing work of Mary Louise Higgs.
• The Program (http://www.theprogramhbg.org/), 1515 Derry Street in Harrisburg, PA 17104.
This supports the ongoing work of Dr. Carol Howard.
There will be a Memorial Service at 2:00 on Saturday April 22nd in Sell Chapel, at Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown PA 17022.
