Elsie E. Roeting, 86, of Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William and Carrie Sonnon Garman. Elsie was the loving wife of the late Herbert F. “Herb” Roeting who died in August of 2008. For many years Elsie worked as a certified nursing assistant for Pleasant View Retirement Community. She was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, Manheim. Elsie enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening; crocheting, and traveling to the family cabin called “Kamp Keep Kool” in West Milton.
Surviving are two daughters: Doris L. Porta of Elizabethtown, Shirley A. wife of Harrison Moore of Manheim, two sons: Richard H. husband of Priscilla Roeting and Bruce E. Roeting all of Manheim, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and three brothers: Allen husband of Linda Garman of Shreveport, La., John husband of Dolly Garman of Pequea, Jacob husband of Ruth Garman of Elizabethtown.
Visitation with the family and viewing will take place at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Ruhl’s United Methodist Cemetery, Manheim.
