Ellis L. Groff

Ellis Landis Groff, 95, of Manheim, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Emerald Nursing and Rehabilitation, Elizabethtown. Born in Lititz, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Jason R. and Emma Landis Groff. Ellis graduated from high school in 1947. Shortly after graduating, he joined the Navy, serving in the Korean War. After his four years of service, he married Shirley Felker. They were happily married for 69 years until her passing in 2023. He was a machinist for R.C.A., and skilled woodworker. His hobbies included playing golf, cards, bowling, pool, hunting, motorcycle riding, and playing harmonica. He attended Elizabethtown BIC Church. 

 Surviving are three children, James C. Groff of Lititz, Diane Groff Burke wife of Paul B. Burke of Mount Joy, Gilbert G. Groff husband of Kara Groff of Hershey, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two sisters, Mabel Graham and Amy Foreman both of Manheim.

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ellis’ Celebration of Life Service at Elizabethtown BIC Church, 966 East High Street, Elizabethtown on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 12:00 noon. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. There will be a light luncheon immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnels to Towers, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
