Ella Mae Keagy, of Elizabethtown, and formerly of Manheim, passed away peacefully after celebrating 92 wonderful years on Sunday, January 26, 2014. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Reed and Minnie F. Schweager Gibble. Ella Mae was the loving wife of the late Charles E. Keagy who died in May of 1980. Throughout her life she helped her husband on the family farm in Rapho Township; and also worked at numerous farmers markets for Keagy’s Produce. Ella Mae was a member of the Chiques Church of the Brethren, Manheim. She was a wonderful baker and enjoyed tending to her flower garden. The Keagy home was a welcomed destination to many friends throughout the years. She opened her home and provided caring hospitality through smiles, laughter, and a well cooked meal. Ella Mae cherished her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She especially loved the time she shared with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ella Mae also enjoyed spending memorable times with her family and grandchildren at the beach each year.
Surviving are two daughters: Judith McNally wife of James Sides of Elizabethtown, Joan L. Keagy, wife of James Robinson of Ephrata, three grandsons: Theodore C. husband of Terry Keagy, Todd M. husband of Jennifer Keagy, Herb McNally fiancée of Courtney Wolpert, four great grandchildren: Ryan Keagy, Andrew Keagy, Megan Keagy, Matthew Marone, and a sister, Ruth Ginder of Lancaster. Preceding her in death are five brothers: J. Roy, Alvin, Clarence, John, and Paul Gibble, and two sisters: Betty J. Raudabaugh and Anna Shaeffer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private following the service in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Friends may also visit with the family at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
