Elizabeth M. Pringle

July 31, 1930 — March 29, 2025

Lancaster

Elizabeth M. Pringle, 94, of Lancaster, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Evergreen Estates, Lancaster. She was the devoted wife of Chester O. Pringle, who preceded her in death in 1987.

Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. Being born during the Great Depression to Martin J. Shepley and Mary M. Shepley (Kolb) and living through many periods of world strife that required all of her siblings (brothers) to fight for her country, she remained a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She was very devout in her faith within the LDS community. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Mom worked in many capacities, all of which included helping people. She worked until the age of 75, with her last job as a care giver to children and a tutor. During her long life, mom never let any grass grow under her feet. She was a volunteer in many ways, including but not limited to Sunday School Teacher, ESL tutor, Girl Scout Leader, PTA member, and a Meals on Wheels delivery person.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Roberta A. Bennett companion of Walter Lomax, Lancaster, Kenneth Pringle, Lancaster, James C. Pringle companion of Jennifer Franklin, Manheim, and Mary L. wife of Martin Wubbolt, Jacksonville FL; five grandsons Brian, Daryl, Michael, Matthew, and Philip; and numerous great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, William, John H. and Charles Shepley. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Growing up, mom was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework or a strong talking to. She was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Elizabeth’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Friday April 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster. There will a public viewing at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 140 N. Penn St. Manheim PA 17545 or Keystone Human Services, 215 Granite Run Dr., Lancaster PA 17601.

Mother, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
