Elizabeth M. “Liz” Stevanus, 87, of Manheim and formerly of St. Michael, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2015. Born in Waterman, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Sikorski Mickolick. She was the wife of the late Glenn E. Stevanus who died in 1991. Liz worked as a sales clerk at the former Woolworth Department Store and at the former Flower Creation, Mount Joy. She was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim. Liz was also a member of the Manheim VFW Post 5956 Ladies Auxiliary and St. Michael Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. Her interests included reading, knitting, playing bingo, walking and she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Monica L. wife of William Reed Jr. of Camp Hill, Florence E. wife of James Simala of Manheim, three sons, Glenn E. Jr. husband of Anita Stevanus of Elder Street, Tennessee, Ray A. husband of Patience Stevanus of Asbury Park, New Jersey, David B. husband of Susan Stevanus of Egg Harbor, New Jersey, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a sister, Violet Novotny of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Joseph Mickolick and two sisters, Jenny Dlusky and Delores Fyock.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Richard Catholic Church, 110 North Oak Street, Manheim on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Father Stephen D. Weitzel as celebrant. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Friday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a VFW Auxiliary service at 7:00 PM. Additional viewing will be on Saturday morning at the church from 10:30 AM until the time of Mass.
Private interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Elizabeth’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
