Eleanor G. Nauman

June 8, 1922 — January 27, 2015

Eleanor G. Nauman, 92, formerly of Hossler Road, Manheim passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Ella Greiner Dyer. She was raised by her foster parents the late John and Nora Landis. Eleanor was the loving wife of Abner B. “Ab” Nauman and they would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in August. She retired from United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz after thirteen years in the laundry service department. In her earlier years, Eleanor worked ten years as a short order cook at the former Evans Restaurant, Manheim. She was a member of Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, Manheim where she was active in the sewing circle and made comforters for the church. Eleanor enjoyed gardening, bowling, riding bicycle, and cats. She and her husband spent many hours on their porch waving and visiting with family and friends.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Kay Y. Myer, Gwen M. Groff both of Manheim, two sons, Jay Leon husband of Diana Wakefield Nauman of Lancaster, Duane M. Nauman of Manheim, four grandchildren, Abby and Gavin Myer, Brandy and Jeremy Nauman, six great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, a brother, Harry husband of Janet Dyer of Elizabethtown, four sisters, Clara Myers, Anna Mary Geib, Dorothy “Doll” Gantz all of Manheim, and Martha Brosey of Columbia. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Justin and Devin Nauman, sons-in-law, Jay Myer and Randolph “Randy” Groff and three brothers, Edwin, Jay and David Dyer.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:30 AM. There will be a public viewing from 10:30 AM until the time of service. Interment in Ruhl’s United Methodist Cemetery, Rapho Township.
