Elda Mae Hermenet

April 22, 1925 — September 7, 2012

Elda Mae Hermenet, 87, of Manheim, and formerly of Williamson, N.Y., died Friday, September 7, 2012 at Conestoga View, Lancaster following a lengthy illness. Born in Williamson, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Sarah DeVey Ghyzels. A homemaker, Elda was married 53 years to Donald Hermenet who died in May of 2001. Her second husband was the late Charles Montondo who died in May of 2011. She was a graduate of Bryant and Stratton Business School in Rochester, N.Y. Elda was an active and faithful member of the Williamson Reformed Church and was a member of the women's guild and volunteered helping with many church dinners throughout the years. Elda's interests included: traveling, cooking and mending. She had a passion for her family and enjoyed shopping with her girls. We her children hope that we can live our lives at the end as she did" always sweet and happy no matter what was happening. Surviving are two daughters: Shelly Hermenet wife of Todd Basom of Manheim, Lisa Hermenet wife of Mark Raffaelli of Whittier, CA., six grandchildren: Jeremy husband of Jennifer Basom, Timothy Basom, Elizabeth Basom, Abigail Basom, Samuel Raffaelli, Thomas Raffaelli, one great granddaughter, Olivia Lynn Basom, and a sister, Lorraine wife of Edwin Jagnow of Newark, N.Y. Our families want to thank the staffs of Conestoga View, Oak Leaf Manor, Landisville, and Hospice and Community Care (Founded as Hospice of Lancaster County) for their kindness, dedication, and wonderful care provided for our mother. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service from the Williamson Reformed Church 6191 Bennet Street, Williamson, N.Y., on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Marion Cemetery, Marion N.Y. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday afternoon following the memorial service at the church. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Elda's memory to the Williamson Reformed Church 6191 Bennet Street, Williamson, N.Y. 14589.
