Edward G. “Ned” Shovlin, 63, of Lancaster, and formerly of Manheim, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Alberta M. Stormfeltz Shovlin. Ned was a 1969 graduate of Manheim Central High School and attended York Academy of Art. For many years Ned designed window displays for major retail department stores in central Pennsylvania; designing for Hess’s and the former Watt and Shand stores, and many others. He also helped in the design for the “Showcase of Homes” staging in Lancaster. Throughout his life he continued to work on his own art projects of paintings, and collages. He had a passionate interest in music of all types. Ned was last employed as a driver for Lancaster Fleet and Auto. He was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim.
Surviving is a sister, Patricia Ann “Pat” wife of Joseph T. Jeckel of Lititz, a niece, Tara K. Jeckel and a nephew, Ryan A. Jeckel.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ned’s funeral service at St. Richard Catholic Church, 110 North Oak Street, Manheim, on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Monday afternoon from 1:30 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township.
