Earnestine G. “Teenie” Zurin, 90, of Mount Joy, died peacefully at home on Saturday, October 4, 2014. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late Cyrus and Martha Hetrick Gainer. She was the loving wife of the late Londa J. Zurin Jr. who died in October of 1996. A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Teenie helped her husband on the family farm throughout her life. She was a member of the Hempfield Church of the Brethren, East Petersburg. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing scrabble, pinochle, and spending time with her dog “Shorty”. Teenie will always be known for her wonderful meals, and how she extended hospitality to her family and friends. She had a life-long passion for her family, and she delighted in every activity where she created new memories with all her children and grandchildren.
Surviving is a daughter, Cheryl wife of Barry E. Shenk of Mount Joy, a son, Gary S. husband of Judy Stoltzfus Zurin of Mount Joy, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a brother, Kenneth A. Gainer of Mount Joy. Preceding her in death is a son, Londa J. Zurin III.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 10:30 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Salunga Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Teenie’s memory to Hospice and Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
