Dr. Alison Bert Jones

Dr. Alison Bert Jones, 65, of Lancaster, went home to be with his Lord, on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Perry, FL, he was the son of the late Frank Jones, Sr. and Mary Alice (Ferrell) Jones Jackson. Dr. Jones was a graduate of Virginia Union College, and received his D.D.S from Howard University in Washington D.C. in 1985. He was the Dental Director of South East Lancaster Health Services, a former board member for the School District of Lancaster and the Urban League of Lancaster County. Dr. Jones was the former director of the Lancaster Dept. of Health. “Al” as he was known by his close friends was an avid Washington Redskins fan.

Surviving is his family of choice, fiancée Beth and sons Rob, and Alex Arnold; Rick, Tressa, and Sophia Rios; and brother Keith Bookert; half-brothers Reuben Jackson and Frank Jones, Jr. and a half-sister Betty Ann Lauria.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral services at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 W. Main St. Mount Joy, PA on Sunday November 24, 2013 at 5:00 P.M. There will be a time of viewing and visitation on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Suitland, MD
