Dorothy S. Wenger, 86, formerly of Manheim died peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Landis Homes Retirement Community Lititz.
Born in Manheim Township, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Ada Shreiner Siegrist.
Dorothy worked for Weis Markets in East Petersburg for many years; previously she worked at the former Donegal Industries Mount Joy. She was a member of Erisman Mennonite Church Manheim. Dorothy enjoyed home sewing, and was known for her expertly crafted aprons that she sold at local markets. Her other interests included gardening and canning.
Surviving are two sons: Gene husband of Doris Hershey Wenger of Elizabethtown, Harold husband of Joanne Buckwalter Wenger of Stevens, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three brothers: Earl Siegrist, Mervin husband of Joan Siegrist all of Lancaster, Roy husband of Shirley Siegrist of Lititz, and a sister, Esther Smith of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service from the Landis Homes Retirement Community WEST BETHANY CHAPEL 1001 East Oregon Road Lititz on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 1:30 PM. Interment will be in East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery. There will be a public viewing at WEST BETHANY CHAPEL on Monday afternoon from 12:30 PM until the time of the service.
