Dorothy M. Stoner, 95, formerly of Lebanon, died peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at the Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Brunnerville, Warwick Township, she was the daughter of the late Levi F. and Anna Nolt Seibert. Dorothy was the loving wife of the late George W. Stoner, of Lexington, who died in 2000.
She worked many years for the former Joie Lore’s Dress Shop Wardrober in Palmyra. Dorothy was an active and faithful member of Quentin United Church of Christ and served as a choir member and on several committees of the church. Throughout her life she was willing to serve humbly wherever she was needed. Dorothy had a life-long passion for providing hospitality to friends and family and was known for her love of cooking. In fact, she published a cookbook of her favorite recipes, Dot’s Delights, in 2010. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and entertaining.
Surviving are three sons: Michael Stoner, husband of Denise Lyons of Taftsville, VT; Douglas L., husband of Dorothy Taylor Stoner of Beech Creek, PA; and Steven C. Stoner of Palmyra, PA; six grandchildren: Marley Stoner Wong, Emily Stoner, James Stoner, Meagan Cleary-Stoner, Corey Cleary-Stoner, and Zackary Cleary-Stoner; and six great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her sister Pauline Roe of Lancaster.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service in the Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing in the Hoffer Auditorium on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Brickerville Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
