Dorothy M. Hollinger, 97, formerly of Lititz, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2015 at Brethren Village. Born in Paradise Township, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Leaman) Metzler. She was the wife of the late E. Earl Walton (1961) for 14 years and the late J. Graybill Hollinger (2014) for 50 years.
She graduated from Paradise High School in 1935 and attended Elizabethtown College. While in college, Dorothy played center for the Blue Jays women’s basketball team, renowned for their winning streak.
Prior to marrying, she worked as a secretary at Elizabethtown College and RCA.
Dorothy was an active member of the Lititz Church of the Brethren, Farm Women Society #1 and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Lititz.
A gracious woman, she said her greatest joy in life was raising her children.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Leigh Walton, husband of Donna, Lanham, MD; Dwight Walton, husband of Debra, Lititz; Donna Walton-Gibbs, wife of Jerry, Lancaster; Mark Walton, husband of Darlyne, Ligonier, IN; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; She is preceded in death by a son, Larry Walton (1969) and siblings Elsie, Albert and Henry Metzler.
